I am grateful that my parents became interested in Christian Science before I was born, so that I have always had the benefit of its teachings and had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School. We have had many healings in our family, but I should like to mention one in my own experience.
Soon after I graduated from high school, and while I was in my first position in an office, eczema developed on my face, neck, and ears. I had treatment from a practitioner, and later, because I needed nursing care, I went to a Christian Science nursing home, where within a few weeks I was healed. I was offered a position in the office of this nursing home and later took the nurses training course there.
Two or three times in the following few years I had serious outbreaks of the condition. Each time it was met with the help of a practitioner and with much consecrated study and prayer on my part. "Trials are proofs of God's care" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 66). Each time I came out of the experience having grown spiritually and having drawn closer to God.
