With a heart filled with gratitude to and love for God I wish to testify to the many blessings I have been privileged to experience through Christian Science, which has taught me to rely unreservedly on God in all situations. With joy I acknowledge Mrs. Eddy's spiritual-mindedness and the steadfastness which made it possible for her to persist in her resolve to give mankind the Christlike, spiritual understanding which meets all our needs.

In the autumn of 1957 I became ill with influenza followed by painful inflammation of the nerves in m head. I asked a practitioner for Christian Science treatment, and her prayers brought me great relief. However, as I was unable to see. I consulted an oculist about glasses. He was quite disturbed and told me he considered I ought to be in a hospital in a dark room because my condition was very serious.

The practitioner continued to give me treatment, and the healing came in about six weeks. I allowed no fear to enter my consciousness, although the oculist had said that I was going blind in one eye. I knew that man is always in God's hands.
