During my childhood I became ill with a mastoid infection. My mother, who had not been studying Christian Science very long, telephoned a practitioner to ask for prayerful treatment for me. I responded to the work of the practitioner immediately; my temperature went down, and I fell asleep and spent a restful night. The next morning I awoke and called to my mother, saying that there was a ringing in my ears. Soon the affected area opened and began to drain. In less than an hour the ear had drained completely, and I soon fell asleep again. Upon awaking. I ate my lunch, and my recovery was rapid.

Colds and so-called childhood diseases were healed with ease, and I have had many other fine healings through the study and application of Christian Science.

One healing was that of a broken toe. When this accident occurred, all I could do was to keep affirming to myself that the real man, who is an idea of God infinite divine Love, cannot experience pain and that there is no pain in Life, God. My childhood training in our home and in the Christian Science Sunday School had firmly convinced me that God's power is equal to every emergency.
