About six months after the birth...

About six months after the birth of my daughter I had a cerebral hemorrhage, which left me unconscious for almost a month. When I finally regained consciousness, the doctors said that nothing more could be done for me. I existed in a state of confusion, partially blind, and unable to express myself. I grew worse for nearly eight years, in spite of my optimistic attitude and attempts to live a normal life.

At this time I was taking over twenty medicines daily. Finally I grew discouraged and decided to take every drug and sleeping pill in the house and just never wake up. At that point I remembered a glimpse of Christian Science which I had had several years before my baby was born. Suddenly I realized that there was no power for life or death in the material body. Man is truly a spiritual idea of God.

I called a Christian Science practitioner for help and began my climb back to health and harmony. Immediately the mental anguish was calmed, and I slept for two days. Within a few weeks I had been completely transformed; I looked like a new person. From that time on, I put myself in God's hands, and I have been continually blessed by this reliance on Him.
