His Angels Have Charge

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Bobby had always been keenly interested in hearing about angels. He had also seen beautiful pictures showing angels as lovely figures floating in the air like birds with large, soft, feathery wings. But all this seemed, mysterious to him until he learned in the Christian Science Sunday School the true meaning of angels.

The teacher read the definition of "angels," given in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It is found on page 581, and this is part of it: "God's thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect." Now Bobby thought this really made sense. He had learned to know God as He is understood in Christian Science. So he felt happy with this lovely idea of angels as the thoughts of God, divine Love, coming directly to him.

One morning Bobby was practicing his piano lesson, as he usually did before going to school. Suddenly he laid his head and arms on the keyboard with a crash. His mother, who was busy in the kitchen, heard and came running into the living room. Bobby said: "I can't practice any more. I don't feel well, and I don't think I'll be able to go to school."
