After a physician had examined me about forty years ago, he kindly advised me to go to a sanitarium for treatment of both lungs. I had lost considerable weight and was seriously ill. However, very shortly thereafter my wife and I heard of Christian Science.

I went to visit a practitioner. His home was five blocks away, and it was a long, tiresome walk for me, necessitating several rest periods. The practitioner spoke at length of God and gave me a Sentinel to read while he prayed for me. I was impressed by the solemnity of it all, and as I started for home, there was a feeling of warmth and comfort throughout my entire body. I felt stronger than I had felt in many months, and the walk home was accomplished without any rest periods.

After a few days, during which the practitioner gave me further treatments, I felt well enough to take a position as a shoe salesman. Later I had a medical examination in connection with my application to a life insurance company for a $10,000 policy, and because of the amount involved the examination was very thorough. The physician asked me if I had had medical treatment for my lungs, because he found evidence of an unusual case of tuberculosis completely healed. He said it was remarkable that such a condition had been overcome.
