I should like to tell of a healing...
I should like to tell of a healing for which I am very grateful. I was suffering from a stiff arm, which for a week or more had caused me such severe pain that some nights I was unable to sleep. I had been looking forward to seeing the film entitled "The Mother Church in Action," which was to be shown about that time in the branch church I attend. When the day came, however, the pain was particularly severe. The suggestion came to me that I should not go, because I would not get anything out of the film and might as well stay at home.
At once it became clear to me that this was mortal mind trying to deprive me of good. So I refused to be kept from going, and I set out. As I was changing from one streetcar to another, I tried to grasp at the handhold with the hand of my stiff arm, without realizing what I was doing, and fell off the step. A man helped me, and I continued on my way.
As I neared the door of the church, I took a firm stand for Truth and declared that I need not suffer any evil, for divine Love governs man. I knew too that so much spiritual preparation had been done by the ushers and all the other Christian Scientists present that everyone would be greatly blessed by seeing the film. Once during the showing of it the pain became severe, but I declared my immunity from evil, because in reality I am a perfect, spiritual idea of God. Soon afterwards I discovered that I could raise my arm and that it was healed.
