Buffalo, New York (Fourth Church).

Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, Buffalo, New York, will dedicate its edifice at 323 Winspear Avenue at 11.00 and 3.00 o'clock tomorrow....

Organized in March, 1931, the [local group of Christian Scientists] first met in a store in the North-East Masonic Temple on Bailey Avenue. [The group was recognized by The Mother Church as a Christian Science Society on May 18. The next year, on April 1, 1932, the society was recognized as Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist, Buffalo.]

In 1948 the church purchased an Army surplus chapel in Oswego. The chapel was dismantled and reassembled on the Winspear Avenue location. The cornerstone was laid in August, 1948, and building operations were completed in 1949.—Buffalo Evening News (November 25, 1960).
