Even while still young, I felt an assurance within myself that there must be something that would reveal to me the way of liberation from the seeming futility of life. There was no one around me at that time to help me to discover a means of freedom and happiness. Christian Science came into my life after many years of groping with the little knowledge which I had of God and prayer.
I have had inspiring experiences in Christian Science of healing, of supply, of protection, and of guidance. Most of these have been with the help of a practitioner. This testimony is to relate a healing which I experienced without such help.
A condition appeared in my body which lasted five days. The symptoms were those of an ailment which a medical specialist some years previously had said would develop some time later in my life. Remembering his warning and believing that his prediction had come to pass, I was quite overwhelmed with fear.
