It has been my privilege for quite...
It has been my privilege for quite a number of years to know something of Christian Science and to witness its beneficial effects in my family and to experience myself healings of so-called incurable diseases.
My first healing was that of stomach ulcers. I was under the care of the best physician in town, but there was no improvement; my condition was so serious that my life was despaired of, and the physician said there was nothing that could be done for me. One morning I asked my mother to call a friend of hers who was studying Science and to ask her whether she knew a Christian Science practitioner to whom I could write for help. The friend said one had moved into town during the past week.
The practitioner came to my home. She sat down by my bed and declared that God is Life and does not change. She explained that because man is actually His likeness, one always experiences perfect activity. This to me seemed an unusual statement, but I accepted it as true. She asked me to repeat after her the ninety-first Psalm. My thought was so awakened by its promises that the fear I had felt was destroyed.
