Mars' Mill (Acts 17:22)
This eminence in the city of Athens is more generally known as "the Areopagus" (literally, "hill of Ares"). Ares, the Greek god of war, corresponded to Mars, the Roman god of war. The city court of Athens was also called Areopagus and generally held its meetings on the hill in question (compare verse 19) where Paul was called upon to give an address.
