Through the application of Christian Science I have been quickly healed of sprained ankles, an injury resulting from a fall from a tree, colds, influenza, a broken arm, a sore jaw, a skin irritation, and many other physical difficulties. All of these healings have been the result of a complete reliance upon Truth.

After my third year of college, I was rejected from a Reserve Officers Training Corps summer camp because of a hernia. Later my local draft board classified me 4-F for the same reason. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment by prayer and was healed. Subsequently I was reclassified 1-A, inducted into the Army, and assigned to a heavy weapons unit.

On a rainy day during its basic training period my company was marching up a slippery hill. I was carrying a heavy machine gun mount on my back, and a hernia developed. When the company reached the top of the hill, I reported the matter immediately and was permitted to separate myself from the others. The company commander sent for an ambulance for me.
