Jim Sees the Truth for Himself
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Jim was a happy, energetic boy, because he knew through Christian Science that his true selfhood was the perfect reflection of God. But whenever anything pained or troubled Jim, he went to his mother, and she talked gently to him of God. Sometimes she sang hymns to him from the Christian Science Hymnal or read Psalms from the Bible. She always reminded him that he was the beloved and perfect child of God; so no harm could ever come to him. Soon his trouble would be forgotten, and he would go back to his play again.
One morning Jim ran to his mother while she was preparing their breakfast. He was bubbling over with eagerness as he asked her to take a look at his eyes and see if they looked all right.
Jim's mother assured him that they looked fine to her. She could tell by the radiant look on his face that he had something special to tell her. He announced, "I've had a healing, Mom, and all by myself too!"
