It would be impossible for me to...
It would be impossible for me to express enough gratitude to counterbalance the blessings that have come to me as a result of the application of the teachings of Christian Science. When I was a young girl, I spent about six years in the Christian Science Sunday School. Later I married and became estranged from Science. But whenever I had difficulties and applied to them the truths which I had learned in the Sunday School, they faded away. Some years later I was roused by a dear relative to return to a consistent practice of the teachings of Christian Science, and I did not give it up again.
Once I had a severe heart attack which left me helpless for a while, but through the unselfed prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner I was completely healed. During this experience I devoted myself entirely to a thorough and conscientious study of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I gained a spiritual assurance which enabled me to place my reliance completely on God. I shall never forget the tireless patience expressed by the practitioner. I learned beyond a shadow of doubt that God is man's Life and that Life is Spirit, not subject to discord or decay.
Soon, wonderful things unfolded as the result of the fuller understanding of Life, God, which had become mine. I spent many weeks vacationing in another country. The physical exertion which this involved in the way of sight-seeing was experienced with great ease. Soon thereafter I resumed playing golf. This I had not done for many years, and my ability to play was another proof that my healing had been thorough.
