With the prayer that others may benefit from my experience, I am submitting this testimony.

Many years ago I went abroad to visit relatives. After I had been with them about two weeks, I began to feel ill. I felt that I must not stay there any longer; for once they knew I was ill they would insist on my having medical treatment. So I took the ship home, and during the voyage I had an opportunity to read the Lesson-Sermon, with the aid of the Christian Science Quarterly and to study the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. While I had been away I had neglected the daily reading of the lesson.

When I reached home I had to go to bed at once. According to the physical evidence, I was very ill. I was suffering from inflammation of the abdomen and shingles, which kept spreading. A Christian Science practitioner prayed earnestly and diligently with me. She explained that the fear of the condition had to be cast out of my consciousness, and then I would be healed. And she was right. After a time I was healed.
