"Stand porter"
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Susie was a Christian Scientist, and she knew that when something bothered her, she could turn to God for help; then whatever was disturbing her would quickly fade away. She had learned this in the Christian Science Sunday School.
One day at school she tripped and fell from the top of the stairs to the bottom. Everybody ran to help her, and their questions showed that they were very anxious.
Susie scarcely heard what they were saying, because she was remembering something from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 392): "Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously."
