There are four children in our home, and Christian Science has been a great help in caring for them. When our little girl was about eighteen months old she began to cry a great deal and had some discomfort in one ear. I took her to the office of a Christian Science practitioner, who gave her a treatment by prayer and who also repeated to me this statement from pages 470 and 471 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history."

Then we called a taxi and went home. I was conscious of feeling calmer and less fearful, and during the afternoon the child began to play normally. That night her ear drained and she was free and happy, for which we were all very grateful.

At one time a bowl of hot soup was accidentally spilled on one of our young boys. For a moment I was tempted to be resentful toward the one who had caused the accident and to reproach myself for carelessness. Then I realized that in reality nothing bad had happened.
