By the time I was twenty I was...
By the time I was twenty I was dissatisfied with human vagueness about God and the false theological view that it was His will that men should suffer. I was convinced that I could manage my own affairs with more intelligence than could such a creator. However, over the next ten years, during which time I married and had a daughter, my self-confidence proved inadequate.
A great desire to be of wise help to others, as well as to help myself, and an earnest love of law and intelligence prepared the way for my introduction to Christian Science. When I learned through a new friend that this Science explains God as Principle and Mind, I accepted its teachings wholeheartedly. Since then I have not doubted that Mrs. Eddy has given us the final revelation of Truth.
One of my greatest reasons for gratitude is that as my spiritual education was going on, I was able to impart to our daughter the great spiritual facts of being. The practical value of Christian Science in education has been a wonderful revelation to me.
