Love's Rod
"Through strict adherence to the law of Love, we find comfort, peace, and well-being"
The Old Testament in speaking of the Lord, or Jehovah, or the Lord God of Israel, emphasizes God's leading and guiding of His people and His revealing of His law to them. The Apostle John designated Love as a synonym for God; then divine Love compels the fulfilling of the divine law. In Christian Science, compulsion is an enactment of Principle, Love, and expresses the divine will. Sometimes, however, this compulsion of Love may appear to mankind to be a correcting rod to which they do not wish to submit.
