My mother took up the study...

My mother took up the study of Christian Science when I was a young child. She had a birthmark on her cheek that looked like a large red raspberry. Some time ago the condition became aggravated, and a growth developed. Several of the neighbors suggested that my mother have medical attention. One of her grandsons offered to pay all her expenses if she would have the growth removed by a surgeon.

Finally, at the insistence of one of her sons, she visited a physician, who expressed great concern said he could do nothing for her, gave her the name of a specialist, and advised her to see this specialist at once. This she refused to do. Instead, she asked for the help of a Christian Science practitioner.

She continued the daily study of the Bible Lessons, outlined in the Quarterly. She pondered this statement from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 468): "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." In about a month, the growth began to heal and get smaller. In six months it was gone. Even the birthmark disappeared.
