A number of years ago, before I knew what Christian Science teaches, I was at home alone with our young daughter, who was sick and delirious. In my great need I asked God to direct me. My husband had been given a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. This was in our bookcase. I walked over to it, suddenly remembering that I had heard that people could be healed by simply reading the book. I began to read, and I read on and on all day! About five o'clock our daughter sat up, saying, "I'm quite well now, Mamma!" The next day she was out and about again, fully recovered.

In addition, a tumor which I had, and which a doctor had said should be removed by surgery, fell away as a result of my reading that day. I then felt a deep desire not to let go of this truth. I looked up the nearest branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and began to attend its services and meetings. Our three children had the privilege of attending its Sunday School. I became a member of the church and have found joy in service and worship.

I am very grateful for the healings of bronchitis, of a cyst, and of a nervous disorder. I am also deeply grateful for an understanding of the spiritual nature of man's true supply. As a result of this understanding I was able to visit our son and his family in Canada, my husband's relatives in the United States of America, and also The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts. The trip brought me much joy and contentment. It was a great lesson to me, for I had proof that our Father-Mother God directs the way and supplies our needs.
