It is not unscientific to be religious, though the effect of being scientific may be considerable upon the form and content of a scientist's religion....

[It is in] George Bernard Shaw's introduction to his play "Back to Methuselah"... that this great genius writes of "the genuinely scientific religion for which all wise men are now anxiously looking." Evidently religion, for G.B.S., was not something one could afford to neglect.
