RADIO PROGRAM No. 364 - Confidence in God Brings Assurance in Emergencies

SPEAKER: What's the most effective way we can deal with our own fear and panic in an emergency? How does an understanding of God help us when we have to act quickly and correctly without fear? You'll hear some useful and encouraging answers to these questions on our program today, because our guest, as a jet pilot, had to face emergency situations.

Now here is Ralph E. Burr, of Winnetka, Illinois, to tell you about his experience.

MR. BURR: One of the greatest problems a pilot has to face is panic. It's easy enough to remember what to do on the ground or on a normal flight, but when something goes wrong, that's when fear can really enter the picture. Now, I'm a Christian Scientist—always have been. So when I began to fly a plane, I knew that here was another opportunity to rely on my spiritual understanding of God to help and protect me.
