God Is All-pervading

Christian Science has come in this era, introducing to humanity the scientific concept of God, good, and of man as His image and likeness. It rejects the erroneous belief that God is a faraway variable power or that He is personal, an anthropomorphic God. It denies the popular belief that God knows both good and evil or that He is a punisher of man. God is Spirit, and Spirit cannot create that which is foreign to Spirit. God is Love, and Love cannot originate that which is foreign to Love. Love loves and cannot hate.

To demonstrate God's power in human experience, we must know God aright. Mrs. Eddy constrains us in these words (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 16): "We must learn that God is infinitely more than a person, or finite form, can contain; that God is a divine Whole, and All, an all-pervading intelligence and Love, a divine, infinite Principle; and that Christianity is a divine Science."

Imperfection and discord have no place in the all-pervading goodness of God. Sickness has no status in "all-pervading intelligence and Love." In God's allness there is no physical personality for sickness to adhere to. Accidents cannot take place in God's creation, for in the allness of Spirit there is no matter. It is in the understanding of the all-pervading nature of God that we are able to show forth evidence of order in our daily lives.
