With great gratitude I acknowledge my indebtedness...

With great gratitude I acknowledge my indebtedness to Christian Science for the inspiration, regeneration, and guidance I continually receive through its teachings. The daily experiences that could seem so enigmatic and unjust become in Christian Science opportunities to prove God's love and care for His children.

At one time I was associated with a professional group on a freelance basis. My own economic needs necessitated spending a good deal of my available time doing a routine and repetitive type of work, which was in sharp contrast to the uninhibited freedom enjoyed by the others in their work. The suggestion that my work was burdensome and depressive seemed very persistent. It finally reached the point where I was tempted to be dubious about my ability to do original work. Spare moments and hours were used studying the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings in the endeavor to find an answer to what seemed a vexing state of affairs.

When the desire to do God's will, whatever it might be, began to outweigh the stubborn insistence to pursue merely a humanly outlined course of action, a solution became apparent. The way opened to take a position with a firm in which I could continue the type of work I had sought to do on my own. This situation offered many opportunities for progress and demonstration over a period of several years.
