CHILDREN OF ISRAEL

The translation of the Bible into many tongues has greatly enhanced the lives of men, but its greatest value is in the spiritual interpretation of its inspired teachings. In fact, it is in such interpretation that the Bible is fulfilling its divine purpose. Its message is so potent that the transforming power of the Word is evident wherever it is sought and heeded.

Consider the term "children of Israel," for example. Perhaps most of us have assumed that the beneficiaries of some unusual promises in the Bible were a certain people who shared a common ancestry. But that is not the case. Such promises are for people who share a common spiritual experience, that of overcoming a false mortal sense of life through the power of Spirit.
