THE ETERNALITY OF BEAUTY

Because man is God's beloved child, he has all good from his heavenly Father. Therefore the perfection of beauty is forever his, since its source is in God. One does not have to look to material embellishment for loveliness; it is spiritual and is man's by reflection.

When Christ, Truth, is present in one's consciousness, the light of purity, goodness, and love, the only true beauty, shines forth. The enemies of loveliness are carnal thoughts, such as resentment, self-will, hatred, and revenge. If beauty is to find expression in one's consciousness and countenance, such dark images of thought must be replaced with the spiritual facts of being. Spiritual ideas, which are the angel thoughts of God, Life, Truth, and Love, must be made one's own if one is to prove that man is the continuous reflection of enduring perfection and goodness.

One who strives to be clothed with spirituality, with the robe of righteousness and the garment of praise, is not unduly concerned with material garments for human adornment, for they will naturally pattern his more Christly thinking. Color, a facet of comeliness, is in its spiritual signification one of God's indestructible gifts to man. God, the only creator of man, has endowed His creation with all the perfection, color, and radiance of His own glorified being.
