I recognized the truths of Christian Science when I found myself in great need. Up to that time, although I was a student of sorts, I had not really put it into practice. I went to church irregularly and neglected the spiritual study that must go with Christian Science if one is to live it rightly.

One morning I awoke with one ankle swollen and sore. I walked on it for a day, and it became worse. I thought it was broken and decided to have an X ray. The doctor said that it was not broken and that he could not diagnose it. I then decided this was my opportunity to rely on Christian Science completely.

At this time I called a Christian Science practitioner, and together we worked to know the truth of the perfection of man, the image and likeness of God, as explained to us in the Christian Science textbook. Science and Health.
