Through Christian Science I have learned not only of the healing power of God, but of God's ever-present, loving protection for all. This statement on page 494 of Science and Health, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," has been proven to me time and again.

Several years ago when working for a lumber company, I was helping to unload some huge logs from a truck and slipped, falling to the ground and landing flat on my back. A very heavy iron post used for holding the logs in place on the truck also fell, the square corner of it hitting me a severe blow on the head. Almost immediately I turned to the ever-presence of the Christ, Truth. I knew that man is the image and likeness of God and that therefore no harm can befall him. My consciousness was completely filled with God's healing presence.

Since there was a cut on the top of my head, I was asked to see a doctor. However, I knew that because God does not need a doctor His child has no need of one. I was so completely aware of this fact that it was no surprise to find the three local doctors occupied elsewhere and unable to see me.
