ANNUAL ASSOCIATION—A SPIRITUAL FEAST

An annual feast which was instituted in early Biblical times was appropriately called the Passover. It was held to commemorate the protection experienced by the Israelites when the plague that passed over their houses killed the first-born sons of the Egyptians.

Christian Science shows us that spiritualization of thought attains unity with God and constitutes a commemoration of good received. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, writes in Science and Health (p. 35): "Our Eucharist is spiritual communion with the one God. Our bread, 'which cometh down from heaven,' is Truth. Our cup is the cross. Our wine the inspiration of Love, the draught our Master drank and commended to his followers."

This high, spiritual standard is exemplified in Christian Science church services, meetings, and lectures, as well as in the Annual Meetings of The Mother Church. It is also beautifully exemplified in the association meetings of pupils of loyal teachers of Christian Science, which are held annually in accordance with the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy (see Art. XXVI, Sect. 6).
