THERE IS ONE MAKER

In the story of Adam and Eve, which is a profound allegory exposing the ways of suppositional evil, a serpent appears to Eve with the suggestion (Gen. 3:5), "Ye shall be as gods," that is, creators, or makers. Here is the first implication that a mortal can be a maker, a lie which has led on to the belief that he can make himself, his environment, his character, his self-governing laws.

But making, creating, belongs to Deity alone. Many who believe superficially that God is One and that He is the only Maker have yet to learn that the mortal self makes its own conditions and that this false self, which is not God's likeness, must be dropped for the immortal self, which is truly created, but is never a creator.
