I first heard of Christian Science about twenty-five years ago. My aunt who lived in another country wanted to pay us a visit, provided there was a Christian Science practitioner in our city. We found that there was one; so my aunt arrived a few days before Christmas. On Christmas Eve she came down with a severe attack of gallstones and requested my mother to call the practitioner and ask for help.

At that time we knew nothing of Christian Science, but my mother did as she was asked. That this practitioner came on Christmas Eve to people who were complete strangers to her and prayed most of the night for my aunt, that she expressed great love, and that she and my aunt showed no least sign of weariness after a wakeful night made a deep impression on me. Added to this, my aunt was fully recovered in the morning, It was then that I took up the study of this wonderful Science of Love. Since then I have experienced many blessings.

From my youth I had suffered every winter from chilblains in my feet. One winter they were especially severe and ulcerated. One cold winter night I was invited to a country place, and I had to walk about two miles through deep snow to reach the house. It was a beautiful moonlight night, and suddenly a joyous sense of happiness came over me in gratitude for the true light of God, which is ever shining in the darkness.

When I was alone in my room later in the evening, I found there was not a trace of the chilblains, not even a mark on my feet. This healing took place over twenty years ago and has been permanent. The light of Truth had dispersed the darkness of error.

Another time I experienced an instantaneous healing through Christian Science treatment. I was visiting in another city and was in a state of exhaustion. I was overcome by influenza and asked a friend to telephone a practitioner. In a little while I was filled with peace and happiness. To the great astonishment of those around me, I was completely healed.

The next day I took up my work again as usual. At that time I was working fourteen hours a day with two hours for lunch, and I used this time for the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Each day this reading gave me renewed strength, happiness, and rest.

I am deeply grateful to God, who has led me on the right way, enabling me to find the rock of Truth, a solid foundation, that does not yield and on which one can rely in any situation in life.
