Activities for the Armed Services
Christian Scientists commissioned as Protestant Chaplains in the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force work in a broad field, are assigned a wide variety of duties, and have many opportunities to serve God and their fellow men. Besides requiring them to help meet the religious needs of Protestants, the Armed Forces expect them to assist Christian Scientists.
In the performance of this latter assignment, our Chaplains look up the service personnel who designate Christian Science as their religious preference. They distribute Christian Science literature, hold services wherever there is a need for them, and give Christian Science treatment to those who request help.
In some military installations, If there are enough children from Christian Science families, the Chaplains organize informal Sunday Schools.
