Tabernacle (Lev. 26:11)
The Hebrew term mishkan means literally "dwelling place," being derived from shakan (to dwell), though it is often used in the Old Testament in the sense of "tabernacle" (tent), a natural metaphor in view of the nomadic wanderings of the Israelites.
