Man's Eternal Harmony
"No erring mortal belief can alter the unblemished harmony and perfection of man's being"
In our efforts to experience harmony we may sometimes erroneously entertain the view that it has been lost. It only appears lost to us or rather to material sense, which claims to act as our consciousness. It could no more be lost to God's idea, man, than it could to Deity, Himself. God, immutable Principle, is forever harmonious. Harmony, being an attribute of Soul, God, is present everywhere. And it eternally belongs to man, God's image or reflection. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, declares in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 548): "In this Science, we discover man in the image and likeness of God. We see that man has never lost his spiritual estate and his eternal harmony."
Because God, good, is the only creator, there is no power able to create disease or enforce any sequence regarding it. Nor is there any mentality cognizant of it, for the one Mind, the Mind of every child of God, is conscious only of harmony. It is impossible for God's man to have something that does not come from divine Love. Consequently, one who believes he is experiencing indigestion or some other ailment does not in reality have it. The false belief and the discord are one and the same and do not belong to man, God's image. They are mental errors.
Jesus termed discord an unclean spirit when he was casting it out and healing one in need of help. It was his understanding of man's eternal harmony that broke the mesmeric belief in the reality of inharmony and healed the patient.
