I did not come to Christian Science...
I did not come to Christian Science for healing since I did not consider myself a sickly person. But because I wanted to learn something of God and of man's relationship to Him, I began to study the Bible Lessons, provided in the Christian Science Quarterly.
Before becoming a student of Science I was an inveterate reader of fiction. I often read a novel a day. I loved the world of imagination.
When I began the study of this religion, these lines in the Preface of "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy held my attention (p. xi): "Realism will at length be found to surpassimagination, and to suit and savor all literature." Also on page 131 of Science and Health by the same author I found this awakening statement: "There is no error in Science, and our lives must be governed by reality in order to be in harmony with God, the divine Principle of all being."
