The spiritual understanding of God gained through the study of Christian Science has blessed me in many ways. Having been reared in a Christian Science home, it has always seemed to me perfectly normal and natural to expect physical healings when turning to God in prayer. As a youth, I expect I took it for granted that God would heal me, for He always had.

But many years passed before I began to glimpse the fact that Christian Science is actually the revealed Science of being. The priceless value of its teachings began to become apparent when I learned to apply them in solving business problems.

It was a great step forward for me when I really appreciated the need for turning to God first to work out such problems rather than waiting, as I had often done, until I had exhausted all human effort. I could cite numerous business experiences which have proved to me that God is truly "a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1).
