I learned of Christian Science many years ago in Russia, where I was then living. At the time I had been having medical treatment for months. The treatment had not brought healing, and the symptoms of the disease were causing me a great deal of suffering.

When I heard that a Christian Science practitioner was passing through our town in Russia, I decided to get in touch with her. Through her comforting words and her explanation of God's infinite love, I was instantaneously and permanently healed.

I also had had a bony tumor on one of my hands for several years. The doctor said it could be removed only by an operation, but I was afraid of surgery. Then the war broke out, and it was many years before my husband and I could go back to Germany. Upon our return we became increasingly interested in Christian Science. We joined a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in Berlin and became members of The Mother Church.
