"WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?"
John 5:6
Rest
not on cherished couches
Of passive sin and fear,
Awaiting the troubled waters
Weary on weary year!
View not the pool in turmoil,
Or angel-challenge hear,
And weep for want of borrowed strength
To lift and bear thee near.
Arise. Give thanks. Make ready.
If seeking be sincere,
Forsake bedridden, inturned thoughts;
Claim the reflection clear.
Love's likeness—perfect, joyous man—
Envisioned, does appear
By waters stirred and stilled by Truth.
The very Christ is here!
