RADIO PROGRAM No. 303 — What Am I Listening To?
Speaker: We're always listening to something—to radio, or television, to those around us, or to our own thoughts. But we need to be alert to detect what we take in. Our guest today had some lessons to learn on this point, and he found physical healing as a result. I'd like to introduce Daniel Dawson, of Llandudno, North Wales.
Mr. Dawson: Some thirty years ago I was having a number of physical difficulties, among which was a growing problem of deafness. From time to time I had treatment for the condition from a doctor who was very, very kind and did what he could for me. However, the difficulty was so severe that it appeared almost a certainty that I was going to lose my employment. It was uncomfortable and discouraging to me when I was among my friends to have to ask them to shout so that I could hear.
At that particular time I moved from a district where I had been residing for some years, and on coming into this new district, I was met by a young boy of about twelve years of age who said he was a member of the Christian Science Sunday School. Noticing my difficulty, he almost immediately suggested that I should come along to be introduced to his Sunday School teacher. He said that Christian Science healed all manner of sickness and sin. I was very willing to do this, very willing indeed. And when I met his Sunday School teacher, he said in effect: "Well, now, in Christian Science we bring about healing by getting a spiritual understanding of God and relying on God. If you want to hear, then let us listen to the voice of God."
