A SAFE ATMOSPHERE
Because the precepts of Christ Jesus were true, they fit every age. The truth never changes, but the application of it in human problems is adaptable to any situation. When understood, the Master's teaching (Luke 17:21), "The kingdom of God is within you," points to a refuge from the threats to the earth's atmosphere in this age of atomic experiment.
Christian Science makes clear how one can meet the dangers brought about by research in the natural sciences. Christian Science follows the method of the Master. Mary Baker Eddy says in her Message to The Mother Church for 1902 (p. 8): "Christ Jesus reckoned man in Science, having the kingdom of heaven within him. He spake of man not as the offspring of Adam, a departure from God, of His lost likeness, but as God's child."
Whoever knows himself as God's child rather than a fragile mortal and lives his spiritual manhood by expressing the Christly qualities that belong to the real man is safe. He is demonstrating the atmosphere of Spirit, which cannot become contaminated by any form of error, physical or mental. He is proving the Master's teaching that the kingdom of God is within man.
