"The heavens declare the glory...

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork" (Ps. 19:1). This statement from the Bible started my awakening from a nervous breakdown which had taken me through a very deep valley of discord for many months.

I was suffering from a belief of lack and fear, which resulted in a weakened condition. At the time I was having the prayerful help of a consecrated Christian Science practitioner. One night I walked to the Reading Room which is maintained by the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I am now a member. The attendant saw that I was in need of help. He said, "There is no fear in divine Love." His words broke the mesmeric suggestions, and the fear lessened.

From then on, through study of and consecration to the writings of our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, especially Science and Health, I gained a better understanding of the phrase "perfect God and perfect man," which I had heard many times at Wednesday evening testimony meetings in a branch church. The complete passage from Science and Health reads (p. 259), "The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration." The understanding of this truth brought my complete healing.
