OBEYING THE LAW OF LOVE

IN his familiar parable of the good Samaritan, Christ Jesus succinctly emphasized the need for not merely professing but expressing love toward mankind. The climax to the story is the brief command (Luke 10:37), "Go and do thou likewise."

Throughout the fabric of Jesus' teachings is found the indestructible. golden thread of unselfed love : love for God and love for all mankind. He who dated the Christian era and established the foundation of Christianity stands as the greatest exponent of love the world has ever known.

Jesus loved when others hated. He recognized God to be infinite Love and man to be God's reflection, expressing the qualities of Love. The Master's entire earthly record illustrates the selfless, humble, tender nature of that love which reflects divine Love. He once declared (John 15:13), "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
