I first heard of Christian Science while I was attending high school in 1887. I had an opportunity to hear a Christian Science practitioner from another city explain the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy. The talk was given to a small group of people in a private home and seemed very clear and truthful to me. Very soon I bought a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and began studying.

I have had many healings through the years, some with the help of a practitioner and some by my own declarations of Truth. Important healings were those of rheumatism and later of ulcers on both my ankles and of grief at the passing on of a loved one.

The healing of rheumatism was accomplished in about three weeks after almost constant reading of the textbook. This healing has been permanent through the years and has proved to me that Christian Science is the truth. It encouraged me to press on, and from that time, which was over forty-five years ago, I have been an ardent student of Christian Science.
