The Reward of Consecration

Consecration and love for God and man are the keynote for progressive service in all Sunday School activities. The faithful Sunday School workers, whose lives exemplify Christlike thinking and living, are certainly blessing the Sabbath School children by their example. These workers are following in the footsteps of our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, whose pure life and healing mission continue to be the example for us all.

The oil of consecration penetrates deeply into the minutiae of church affairs, enabling the members to serve where they are most needed and can do the most good. A church member who sincerely desires to support the Sunday School can prove that Mind provides the inspiration and ability to fulfill the office of Sunday School teacher or officer. As consciousness becomes permeated with Love's ever-presence and all-power, the limitations, doubts, and fears which would try to interfere with effective work in the Sunday School dissipate like dew before the morning sunshine.

Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, designates Love as one of the seven synonyms for God. A fuller understanding of God as Love will bring more of Love's manifestation and provision into our Sunday Schools. So the answer to the question, "How can we increase the Sunday School attendance?" is to love more. The children in the community will feel this spiritual animus, this divine attraction, and be led to our doors, filling our Sunday Schools to overflowing.
