LEARNING MEEKNESS

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Donnie loved to go to the Christian Science Sunday School. He loved to think of the truths he learned there and of how to use these truths. One very interesting thing he liked to think of is that we are all working for God and that God has given us instruments or tools to use in our work.

Donnie's Sunday School teacher had explained to the class that in everything we do, we need instruments or tools of some kind to help us. An artist must have paint and brushes. A carpenter needs hammer and nails. In order to do our work well for God, we must learn to use the tools He has given us.

The class was learning the Beatitudes, in which Christ Jesus tells of some of these tools. One of them is called "meekness." Donnie learned this when the class studied the third beatitude (Matt. 5:5), "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."
