"WITH A PERFECT HEART"

"I Will walk within my house with a perfect heart," sang the Psalmist (Ps. 101:2). A most desirable attainment for everyone is that he may thus walk. This would imply a state of consciousness at peace with the world, serenely confident that the controlling power of divine Love keeps man forever in a perfect state. A healthy human heart accompanies this understanding.

How, then, can this state of mind and condition of health be obtained? The possession of worldly goods cannot produce this state; reliance on matter and materia medica will never bring it about. For these things are conducive to the very opposite state of health and mind.

Our dear Master, Christ Jesus, gave us an everlasting and wholly efficient remedy for the heart's discontent or discord, as well as for what the medical profession terms heart disease, he said (John 14: 1), "Let not your heart be troubled." And then he continued, "Ye believe in God, believe also in me." This "me" we know to be the Christ, Jesus' perfect selfhood.
