Testimony of Healing April 25, 1959 Issue

I submit the following testimony in humble gratitude for all the blessings that I have received through my study of Christian Science. I am grateful for the healing of grief at the passing on of two loved ones.

Several years ago a dear one passed on suddenly. In the midst of all the material arrangements that needed attention, I did no specific prayerful work to overcome grief, and I had a sense of heaviness. One morning my little son, then five years old, asked: "Mommy, they are saying that Grandpa has passed on. What does 'pass on' mean?"

I prayed that I might express my thoughts simply enough to satisfy him, and I was led to answer: "With your eyes you will not see Grandpa; but the love, tenderness, and goodness that Grandpa expressed live on because they are of God, and you will always have these qualities with you. They never pass away." As he ran off completely satisfied, I found myself healed of all grief, and saying, "In him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28).
