"Who may write religious articles for The Home Forum page of The Christian Science Monitor?" is a question often asked by students of Christian Science. Contributions from any member of The Mother Church are welcomed by the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald Editorial Department, where the articles are reviewed and edited for publication. A leaflet entitled "Helps for Contributors" is available from the department for those interested in writing for the periodicals. It was the wish of Mary Baker Eddy that the religious article in the Monitor be unsigned.

People throughout the world, many of whom have never heard of Christian Science before, are receiving help from the religious article in the Monitor. Today this article is usually accompanied by a language translation, which includes Afrikaans, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish.

The distinctive feature of the religious article is its appeal to the interests of the reader in search of inspiration and encouragement, whatever his religious background.
