Christian Science was presented to me when I was in great need of physical healing. I had lost much weight, and a relative recommended that I visit a Christian Science practitioner. The practitioner explained that Christian Science finds its authority in the truths of the Bible. She lent me a copy of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy and showed me how to study the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly.

The next morning I had a harmonious and instantaneous healing of stoppage of the bowels. From then on I began to gain weight rapidly until I was of normal size. Everyone I met remarked about the change in my appearance and commented especially on the joy and freedom in my facial expression.

Shortly after this my husband, out of gratitude for my healing, started to study Christian Science. A little more than a year later our daughter was born under Christian Science treatment. It was a very harmonious birth, and the child was unusually active. The doctor who attended the birth was one whom we had known for a number of years before we became interested in Christian Science. He was much impressed and told my husband that he had felt sure I could never give birth to a child. He remarked that in all his years of experience he had never witnessed anything like it. The child grew up in Christian Science, and now her children are attending the Christian Science Sunday School.
